Porto, Portugal Day 5

Porto, Portugal Day 5

We rolled into the second largest city in Portugal today, Porto, with just a few plans and the general thought of exploring. We discovered half its 2.3 million population might just be cruise ship passengers! We made our way through the crowds for long enough to take...

Cascais, Sintra, & Obidos, Portugal Day 3

We said adeus! to Lisbon and bom dia! to Cascais today. It was a beautiful and sunny day and we were at Pescadores beach for some kayaking by 9am. It was fun to be out with the fishermen who were gathering their catches for the day. After paddling from the Pescadores...

Lisbon, Portugal Days 1 & 2

House Update – Masonry

When I first wrote about our new home project, I explained that we had originally planned on using white brick but it turned out that it wasn't available and we had decided to go in a different direction. We looked at different natural stones and eventually decided to...

IT'S ME, SERENA!

In 2002, I was dreaming of creating a fun and happy little event to sell my vintage and handmade goods. In 2002, I held my first event in my neighbor's barn along with a handful of friends. The sale became wildly popular and began attracting visitors from across the country and recognition in national magazines. Today The Farm Chicks Vintage & Handmade Fair fills the Spokane County Fairgrounds and features hundreds of creatively and carefully curated spaces packed with vintage and handmade goods. Many describe it as a bucket list event, magical, inspirational, and the best event of its kind in the USA. I describe it as the best weekend of the year!

Easter Table Place Marker Cards

Easter Table Place Marker Cards

A nice element for the Easter table is place cards to set at each person's seat, marking their spot at the table. Is it necessary? In most cases. no, but it sure adds another happy little touch to the table, and in this case, a bit of springtime whimsy with miniature...

Easter Table Decoration Nests

Easter Table Decoration Nests

Creating a beautiful Easter table is such a happy task. This year I thought it'd be fun to create sweet little egg-filled nests and place one on each plate as part of a lovely Easter and springlike tablescape. The best part is that it takes just a few supplies and not...
