Easter Table Decoration Nests

Easter Table Decoration Nests

Creating a beautiful Easter table is such a happy task. This year I thought it'd be fun to create sweet little egg-filled nests and place one on each plate as part of a lovely Easter and springlike tablescape. The best part is that it takes just a few supplies and not...

It's another fun style season and I love that barrettes are back in style! They've slowly been showing up here and there over the last year, but really came to the forefront recently at New York Fashion Week. Everything from decorative bobby pins to simple clips,...

Exploring Seattle’s International District

Exploring Seattle’s International District

The Seattle International District is a favorite area of the city for me to visit. Although it's not huge, like some major cities, there are lots of great restaurants, cafes, and bakeries to try and some neat shopping too. It's a fun option if you're looking for a new...

The Farm Chicks Fair 2019 Poster

Each year, after I choose the theme for The Farm Chicks Fair, my focus turns to how I want to turn that theme into a poster for the event and the rest of that year's marketing materials. Much of my inspiration comes to me when I'm traveling because my mind is a lot...

IT'S ME, SERENA!

In 2002, I was dreaming of creating a fun and happy little event to sell my vintage and handmade goods. In 2002, I held my first event in my neighbor's barn along with a handful of friends. The sale became wildly popular and began attracting visitors from across the country and recognition in national magazines. Today The Farm Chicks Vintage & Handmade Fair fills the Spokane County Fairgrounds and features hundreds of creatively and carefully curated spaces packed with vintage and handmade goods. Many describe it as a bucket list event, magical, inspirational, and the best event of its kind in the USA. I describe it as the best weekend of the year!

The Epiphany Tradition of Chalking the Door

The Epiphany Tradition of Chalking the Door

Something you might notice while visiting Europe are homes with their doorways marked with letters and numbers chalk. (You may see this in the U.S. as well, but it's not as widely common as in Europe). This is an Epiphany tradition. Each year on the Epiphany (January...

Decorating with Autumn Plants & Produce

I tend to make vignettes at home using the most simple objects. Oftentimes, that means using the produce that's in season. Simply gather produce that when gathered together tells a lovely decorative story. In this case, natural and neutral colors were speaking to me....
