How to Make Aprons from Vintage Sheets

How to Make Aprons from Vintage Sheets

One of my favorite uses for cute and colorful vintage sheets is as material for aprons that you can craft by hand at home. Just like old tablecloths, vintage sheets are made from great quality cotton and you can find them frequently at yard and estate sales and thrift...

How to Make Dish Towels from Vintage Tablecloths

A favorite way for me to use stained and torn vintage tablecloths is to turn them into pretty dishtowels. I always found it hard to pass up pretty old tablecloths spotted at yard sales. Some had holes, others stained beyond usability. But this old material is the best...

How to Make a Cloud

How to Make a Cloud

A few years ago, I had great fun creating some great big clouds out of paper mache to be hung at the entrance to The Farm Chicks Fair. But before we got them to The Farm Chicks Fair, we had fun with them at home. The boys thought they made cool photo ops. But how do...

IT'S ME, SERENA!

In 2002, I was dreaming of creating a fun and happy little event to sell my vintage and handmade goods. In 2002, I held my first event in my neighbor's barn along with a handful of friends. The sale became wildly popular and began attracting visitors from across the country and recognition in national magazines. Today The Farm Chicks Vintage & Handmade Fair fills the Spokane County Fairgrounds and features hundreds of creatively and carefully curated spaces packed with vintage and handmade goods. Many describe it as a bucket list event, magical, inspirational, and the best event of its kind in the USA. I describe it as the best weekend of the year!
