This year’s Farm Chicks Fair has come and gone. The “County Fair” theme was too much fun and I enjoyed incorporating the theme into The Farm Chicks space. In addition to the cotton candy entryway arch that was created to feel like the entrance gates at a county fair, I used quilts and humble flag buntings to give it an authentic county fair feel. I handmade prize ribbons “awarded” and attached onto homey canned goods for the price sign markers on the Farm Chicks merch in the space.
And I made a prize ribbon back drop for photo ops. I hand cute, glued, stenciled, hole-punched, and corded each one before affixing to the backdrop. It took me twenty hours to complete! Eek! But honestly, I love themes so much and find great joy in bringing it to life.
A lot of the Curators worked the theme into their spaces as well.
I hope to see you at The Farm Chicks Fair next year. It’s always held the first full weekend of June in Spokane, Washington.

In 2002, I was dreaming of creating a fun and happy little event to sell my vintage and handmade goods. In 2002, I held my first event in my neighbor's barn along with a handful of friends. The sale became wildly popular and began attracting visitors from across the country and recognition in national magazines. Today The Farm Chicks Vintage & Handmade Fair fills the Spokane County Fairgrounds and features hundreds of creatively and carefully curated spaces packed with vintage and handmade goods. Many describe it as a bucket list event, magical, inspirational, and the best event of its kind in the USA. I describe it as the best weekend of the year!
