When I took an early retirement from the school district six years ago, I decided I wanted to work part-time from home. I began making soups utilizing local ingredients such as lentils, split peas and barley from local farmers, and grown on the Palouse. Many of the recipes were handed down to me.
I am busy making, packaging and selling Country Harvest Soup and Dill Corn Bread mixes on a daily basis. There are nine varieties of soups, all of which have lentils, split peas or black beans, along with vegetables and seasonings.
I do everything from the processing of the lentils, packaging and selling the soups, to all of the book work. I hope to add more recipes in the near future. ~Lorrie
