GRANDMA'S creamed ONIONS

The specialty of my sweet grandma Marjorie, this is the traditional Thanksgiving recipe I would never dream of leaving out of our family feast. ~Serena

2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste
1½ Cups milk
3 Cups whole peeled pearl onions, boiled tender and drained

Tie on your apron. Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Whisk until smooth and bubbly. Add milk and whisk until thickened. Stir in onions. Serve warm.
