LILAC ICED TEA:
Weve turned one of our favorite flowers into a tea infusion thats
perfect for any day. Directions: Pluck two handfuls of lilac flowers from the
stem. Drop into a large canning jar. Add two bags (or more, according to your
taste) of a mild tea. Fill jar with boiling water. Let stand until mixture reaches
room temperature, then refrigerate until cool. Strain, sweeten if desired, and
serve, garnished with a lilac blossom.
TIPS:
- Use only organically grown lilac blossoms.
- Dont use roadside blooms or those from a florist, nursery, or store.
- Be sure to remove the flowers from the stem, as only the flowers are edible.
- Flowers can be frozen for later use.
