VEGGIE GARDEN
It’s veggie garden time! I love being able to produce my own vegetables and herbs and I even love the planting, watering and yes, the weeding! I spend the winter plotting and planning, and by spring, I’m itching to get my hands dirty. I don’t have ideal conditions for the perfect garden. We live in the woods where it was hard to find a patch of ground with enough sun exposure, our soil is heavy with clay, and until we put our fence up, I was always dealing with deer and wild turkey. But somehow, my garden always gives me what I need – a little quiet time, a sense of accomplishment and if I’m lucky, a tomato or two! ~Teri

RE-CYCLE:
We turned these old gutter hardware pieces into handy garden row markers.

BOOK SUGGESTION:
Square Foot Gardening by Mel Bartholomew. This book is full of great ideas for making the most of your garden space to conserve water and labor. I’ve been using this method for nine years now and love it. Not only is my garden efficient, but (when I keep it weed free) it’s beautiful! It was written years ago, but can still be found in used book stores or online. It’s worth the hunt.
